Denim has a long history as workwear with the U.S. military,
and in the early 1900s, various units of the U.S. Army and Navy
began wearing blue denim as uniforms, and it was adopted as a uniform
until they switched to alternative materials.
Just like jackets and pants, denim headgear
was also adopted as official uniform from the beginning.
Following this background, this is a retrospective of the army hat
that was active in the U.S. Army during WWII.
A top crown with an exquisite shape made of 6 layers.
The long brim without a hard insertand piping cut on the bias, among other details,
are inefficient but meticulously crafted.
The irregular stitching with different pitches on the brim
is a detail unique to this product.
Made with 10oz denim woven with pure indigo vertically
and gray horizontally.
It is a vintage-like fabric that retains fuzziness
and exudes a moderately rough atmosphere even after washing.
